As the members of the Girls Build LA initiative representing Manual Arts High School, the mission of our project is to help promote healthy eating habits in our school and the community of South Los Angeles. We want to give the people in our community a healthy option they can choose over all the fast food places, especially when considering the food desert that our neighborhood is located in. Ultimately, our hope is to begin a food justice movement within South Los Angeles by having an on campus cafe/smoothie shop, starting at Manual Arts High School.
